Corporation for National and Community Service![]()
The Corporation for National and Community Service provides opportunities for Americans of all ages and backgrounds to serve their communities and country through three programs: Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and Learn and Serve America. Members and volunteers serve with national and community nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, schools, and local agencies to help meet community needs in education, the environment, public safety, homeland security, and other critical areas. The Corporation is part of USA Freedom Corps, a White House initiative to foster a culture of citizenship, service, and responsibility, and help all Americans answer the President's Call to Service. DOV’s (Directors of Volunteer Services)
Provides opportunities for professional growth and development for directors/managers/coordinators of volunteers resulting in the more effective utilization of human resources in Palm Beach County.
FAVC (Florida Association of Volunteer Centers)
Strengthen and increases volunteerism by providing a network of support and professional development for volunteer agencies in the state of Florida and the Caribbean. FAVC envisions a significantly improved quality of life in communities throughout the state of Florida by mobilizing volunteers and resources to deliver creative solutions to community problems.
Hands On Network
The Hands On Network is a national civic movement bringing people together to tackle tough community problems through service. The Hands On Network is currently made up of 52 volunteer organizations, community-based nonprofits, as well as business and civic organizations that act as entrepreneurial civic action centers.
United Way of Palm Beach County started its own Hands On program in 1999. In 2005, United Way's program became part of the national Hands On network. The affiliation provides valuable resources and support to help grow and develop United Way of Palm Beach County’s Hands On program. The Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network engages and mobilizes millions of volunteers who are helping to solve serious social problems in thousands of communities. Through a variety of programs and services, the Foundation encourages people from all walks of life – businesses, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, low-income communities, families, youth, and older adults – to volunteer.
