There are 21 sites able to prepare tax returns located throughout the county from Boca Raton to Jupiter, and west to the Glades. Many sites offer day, weekend and night hours.
In additon to traditional face-to-face tax preparation, the IRS and United Way of PBC are offering a facilitated self-assistance service (FSA) at 3 VITA sites. If individuals earn less than $64,000 have a simple tax return and need a little help or do not have access to a computer, they can visit one of the participating tax preparation sites and an IRS-certified volunteer will guide them through the process using free tax software from MyFreeTaxes.com. A third option is filing your own taxes online for free (if your 2016 household income is $64,000 or less) using free tax software from MyFreeTaxes.com.
Our volunteer tax preparers are not only IRS trained and certified, but also pass as background screening to insure your confidence.
